The new VÖSTRA series feature the new Völkl innovation called Red Cell, a german engineered composite material at the Fraunhofer Institute. This Red Cell material is a comprised blend of our V-Cell technology and REVA (Revolutionary EVA) technology. It is placed in the racket hoop and throat of all future Vöstra rackets. The result is a high playability frame with the perfect mixture of strength and elasticity that provides outstanding feel and control. Red Cell Technology rackets will also have increased ball-pocketing resulting in more power. It will extend the sweet spot and the racket will have more tortional stability.

The V-Cell material is the highest level cellulose-based black 3D carbon material looking like cellulose-based graphene nano platelets connected 3D tubes that are integrated in the racket. In our V-Cell Series the V-Cell material is integrated in the hoop and the throat of the racket. It is the most technologically advanced carbon fiber graphite material used in racket sports. The V-Cell material is stronger, longer-lasting, more consistent in production while also giving rackets more resiliency. To the player that means you are getting a racket which offers unmatched performance allowing you to play harder and longer. This V-Cell material is combined with the REVA technology within the new Vöstra series to create the Red Cell technology!

REVA - Revolutionary EVA - is a Völkl innovation used in conjunction with the interchangeable pallet system. REVA replaces the standard EVA material used on the handle below the pallet to dampen harmful vibration (25% more shock absorption due to the denser material). REVA is more resilient (35% more resilient than the standard EVA material) while also giving better lateral and torsional stability to the handle (15-25% laterally stiffer & 35-50% torsionally stronger). For players that means you get a racket with incredible dampening, enhanced feel and better feedback through the handle. It also means rackets with REVA will be more stable on off-center hits without requiring a „death grip“ on the handle. It allows players to train harder and play longer with less arm fatigue. REVA is in all VÖSTRA rackets as well as the V8 PRO, not in C10’s, V1 Classic & V1 EVO and Team Speed. This REVA material is combined with the V-Cell technology within the new Vöstra series to create the Red Cell technology!

V-TEX is a Völkl innovation for butt caps. The V-TEX butt cap is made of silicone polymer rather than hard plastic so it offers better resistance to cracking, shrinking or moving. For players the V-TEX butt cap helps dampen harmful vibrations which would normally make it to your hand. It also gives better feel by reducing that feel of the racket twisting in your hand due to the torque of an off-center hit. V-TEX is in all VÖSTRA rackets as well as the V8 PRO, not in C10’s, V1 Classic & V1 EVO and Team Speed.

The V-Sensor technology is a soft vibration absorbing pin system inserted into the V-TEX butt cap. The use of the V-Sensor pin is similar to the system used in many skyscrapers around the world to dampen shock from earthquakes. The V-Sensor pin results in up to 75% less bad vibrations coming through the handle. Players are always looking for better feel in rackets. The trend towards stiffer string beds has also led to a bigger need for arm protection. The V-Sensor handle offered both, better feel and outstanding arm protection. Tests in the laboratory confirmed it! The V-Sensor is in all VÖSTRA rackets as well as the V8 PRO, not in C10’s, V1 Classic & V1 EVO and Team Speed.

The V-Engine technology was first used in 2005 in the Völkl Tour rackets. With the new VÖSTRA collection, the V-Engine technology is back, exclusively for the VÖSTRA V9 290G & VÖSTRA V9 305G. The V-shaped throat lends added stiffness in the yoke area for more power and additional stability for better control.

The Super Grommet technology having an unique figure 8 funnel shape provide more string movement in all directions and less grommet & string friction. Super Grommets are made of V-Sponse, a visco-elastic polymeric material that is more flexible than standard grommets (+20%). This combination of shape and material gives a larger sweet spot, better control and more energy return to the ball. Most tennis rackets have the pivot point of their string beds at the inside of the grommet. Strings in Völkl rackets using Super Grommet technology have the pivot point closer to the outside of the frame because the grommets are shaped like a figure 8 funnel. This increases dwell time. This more amount of time the ball spends in the string bed thereby enhances spin and control. In addition, the string bed has more energy to release for more power without requiring a bigger swing.

Völkl rackets with the Catapult Effect technology have catapult springs built into the frame at the 3 and 9 o’clock areas, located between frame and super grommets. These Catapult Effect springs give rackets more power and potentially more control even on off-center shots which gives them an expanded sweet spot. The result is a very plush, comfortable feel with amazing control along with the power players expect in this category of racket. Catapult rackets are great for any level player looking for the most comfortable feel in that genre of racket. The Catapult Effect Technology is in the VÖSTRA 2, 3 & 4.

The Power Arm is designed to be free-moving upon the string bed contacting the ball. The Power Arm then moves together with the string bed giving more energy to the shot for maximum power. The Power Arm is only for the VÖSTRA 1 making it the most comfortable and powerful racket in our racket line, also having great playability. That playability comes from the combination of effortless power and the added bonus of amazing spin potential which enhances most player’s control.

The Big Grommet technology, shape and material like Super Grommet technology, is designed to give more forgiving and comfortable performance. Big Grommets allow greater string movement for an increased sweet spot.

The Twin Absorber dampening system, especially developed for the C10’s (C10 PRO & C10 EVO), is comprised of a two part racket shaft injected with an integral EVA foam. The result is a reduction of torsional shock by 60% and vibration by 40%.

The Dual Dampening Grip handle system, currently used in the V1 Classic & V1 EVO, is a two-part racket shaft injected the full length of the handle with rubber-like thermoplastic under the pallet system. The Dual Dampening Grip handle system gives good feedback, great dampening and creates the iconic Völkl ‘plush’ feel even on stiffer frames.

The Vibration Control handle system, currently used on the Team Speed, is made starting with a one-piece shaft which has an EVA dampening layer molded onto it under the pallet system. This system gives good dampening control and feel, along with extremely light weight.
